rental policies

1. Rental Terms

Rental Period


  • Each mascot rental is for one day per character, per event.
  • Delivery and pickup are scheduled as previously agreed.
     

Reservation Fee


  • A non-refundable $25 reservation fee per mascot is due at the time of booking.
  • This fee is applied toward your total rental cost.
  • If the deposit is not paid or the contract is not signed within 24 hours, the rental will be automatically canceled and released to other clients.
     

Rental Balance


  • The remaining balance, including any delivery fees, will be charged to the credit card on file on the day of delivery.
  • If the card is declined or blocked, the costume will not be delivered, and the reservation will be canceled.
  • The $25 reservation fee is non-refundable—no exceptions.

2. Credit Card & ID Verification

To secure your rental, you are required to complete and sign our online Rental Agreement and Credit Card Authorization form. We do not accept cash payments—a valid credit card must be kept on file. CT Party Characters does not have direct access to your credit card information; it will be used only to secure your rental and cover any associated fees.


Note:


  • The credit card must be in the same name as the renter listed on this agreement—no exceptions.
  • The renter must scan and upload a valid government-issued ID at the time of booking.
  • If the credit card does not match the renter’s name or we do not receive the ID, the reservation will be canceled and the $25 reservation fee is non-refundable—no exceptions.
  • The ID provided must be presented at the time of delivery and must match the renter on record—no exceptions.

3. Delivery & Pickup

To provide added convenience, we offer a Delivery & Pickup service for mascot costume rentals.


Delivery Fees (from Cheshire HQ, 06410)


  • $25 – within 10 miles
  • $50 – 11–24 miles
  • $75 – 25–39 miles
  • Over 40 miles – rates determined individually
     

Delivery & Pickup Terms


  • Delivery and pickup must occur at the same residential address listed on your rental agreement. No exceptions.
  • The delivery address must match the residential address provided at booking.
  • At the time of delivery, a valid government-issued ID (Driver’s License or State-Issued ID) must be presented. The ID must match the name and address on the rental agreement—no exceptions.
  • Alternate locations for pickup or return (including family homes, businesses, or friends' residences) are not permitted.
  • Delivery is scheduled on Fridays between 4:00–7:00 PM, based on availability.
  • Pickup occurs the following day, and we will coordinate the best time with you.
  • The renter must be present for both delivery and pickup. If no one is present at the agreed time, a $25 reschedule fee will apply. Rescheduling is based on availability.
  • The delivery fee covers one scheduled delivery before your event and one scheduled pickup after your event.
     

4. Additional Charges

Additional fees may apply for:

  • Late or missed delivery/pickup: $25 per occurrence
  • Minor damage or cleaning: $25–$75
  • Severe damage or loss: up to $300 replacement

5. Safety & Usage Guidelines

General Safety Requirements

  • A responsible adult must supervise the mascot operator at all times.
  • Smoking, open flames, or barbecues are strictly prohibited near the mascot costume.
  • Food and beverages may not be consumed while wearing the costume.
  • Face paint must not be used near or on the costume.
  • Children in the vicinity of the costume must be supervised.  


Safety Precautions

  • Individuals with back, neck, or health issues should not wear the costume.
  • Individuals with skin sensitivities may experience reactions to the costume’s foam or fabric.
  • The costume must be kept away from water, including rain, drizzle, hail, high humidity, and swimming pools.
  • The costume must not be worn by anyone with COVID-19 symptoms or other contagious illnesses.  


Usage Guidelines

  • Costumes are professional-grade and intended for basic entertainment purposes only, such as:  
    • Meet-and-greet interactions
    • Photo opportunities
    • Simple dancing or movement  
  • Any activity beyond this scope may result in costume damage or abuse.  
  • It is the renter’s responsibility to ensure that all safety and usage guidelines are followed to protect participants and preserve the costume’s condition.  


We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep our costumes in excellent condition for all future rentals.

6. Cleaning & Sanitizing

Costume Cleaning & Storage


  • All costumes are professionally cleaned and sanitized after each rental and at least 48 hours prior to the next rental.
  • Clients must not clean costumes themselves.
  • Costumes must be stored safely in a clean, dry area, away from:
     
    • Dirt, spills, and food
    • Pets, insects, or bugs
    • BBQ grills, smoke, fumes, or other hazards
       

Damage & Fees


  • Fees may apply for damage, stains, odors, or severe damage:
     
    • $25 minimum for minor damage (stains, rips, burns, heavy dirt)
    • $75 for smoke or marijuana odor (mandatory deep-cleaning fee; future rentals may be revoked)
    • $100 for severe damage (removal of badges, buttons, trim, pockets, or other costume features)
       

Additional repair or replacement fees may apply for damage caused by improper storage or exposure to hazards.

7. Rescheduling & Cancellations

Rescheduling:


  • Requests must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled delivery.
  • Requests made within 48 hours of delivery will be treated as a cancellation.
  • Reschedules are based on availability and may incur a $25 reschedule fee if applicable.
     

Cancellations:


  • The $25 reservation fee is non-refundable.
  • Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance to avoid additional charges.
  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to delivery may incur additional fees, including a portion of the rental balance, at the discretion of CT Party Characters.

8. Right to Refuse or Cancel Service

CT Party Characters reserves the right to refuse or cancel any rental or service at our sole discretion. This includes, but is not limited to:


  • Suspected fraud or misrepresentation
  • Non-payment or declined/blocked credit cards
  • Attempted chargebacks
  • Any behavior we consider untrustworthy, unsafe, or harmful to our business
     

In such cases, the reservation will be immediately canceled, and no refunds will be issued.
